Cases we take

Nursing home neglect

You trusted a facility to take care of your parent. If the care stopped and they got hurt, you can ask why, and hold the facility to it.

We handle cases for residents of nursing homes and assisted living who were hurt by neglect or abuse: bedsores, repeated falls, weight loss and dehydration, medication mistakes, and injuries nobody can explain.

Most neglect comes from short staffing. The records usually show it. We read the chart, the staffing sheets and the state inspection reports to find where the care broke down.

What we look into first

Families often sense something is wrong before they can prove it. Our job is to turn that sense into a record.

  • The resident's full chart and care plan

  • Staffing levels on the days that matter

  • State inspection and complaint reports

  • Hospital records after the injury

  • What the family saw on visits

What to do now

Do what you can. We can help with the rest.

  1. 01

    Make sure they're safe

If you think someone is in danger now, call 911 or ask for a hospital evaluation.

  2. 02

    Write it down

Note dates, names and what you saw. Photograph injuries and the room if you can.

  3. 03

    Ask for the records

You can request your family member's chart. We can do that for you.

Questions we hear

Can I bring a claim for my parent?

Usually the resident, or the person with legal authority for them, brings the claim. If your parent has died, the estate or family may. We'll sort out who can act.

Will my parent have to move?

Not because of a claim. Many families do move a parent; that decision is yours, and it doesn't affect the case.

The facility had my parent sign an arbitration agreement. Now what?

Bring it in. Some of these agreements can be enforced and some can't. It changes where the case is heard, not whether there's a case.

Talk it through with us

The first meeting is free, and you don't need every detail ready.

Fees and case costs are explained in a written agreement before you sign anything.
