How it works
How an injury case moves
Every case is different, but most go through the same steps. Here's what happens, and what we need from you at each one.
- 01
Step 1: First meeting
We listen, look at what you have and tell you plainly whether we think you have a case. It's free, and there's no obligation.
- 02
Step 2: Signing on
If we take the case, you sign a written fee agreement. It says what we charge, how costs work and who pays them.
- 03
Step 3: Building the claim
We collect reports, records, bills and video, and notify the insurers. You focus on getting better; Della keeps you posted.
- 04
Step 4: Demand and negotiation
When your treatment levels off, we send the insurer a demand with everything that supports it, and we negotiate.
- 05
Step 5: Lawsuit, if needed
If the offer isn't fair, we file suit. Most cases still settle, sometimes after depositions or mediation. Some go to trial.
- 06
Step 6: Settlement and payout
We pay medical liens and costs from the settlement and show you every line before you get your check.
Fees
How our fee works
Injury cases are on a contingency fee: our fee is a percentage of what we recover, and if we don't recover money, you owe no attorney fee. Case costs are separate. They include filing fees, medical records, expert reviews and depositions. Your agreement says how costs are paid if the case wins and if it doesn't, and we go over it with you before you sign.

About the process
How long will my case take?
Many claims settle within a year of the injury. Cases that go to suit often take longer. We'll give you our honest estimate once we know your treatment plan.
Do I have to go to court?
Most cases settle without a trial. If yours goes to suit, you may give a deposition and, if it goes to trial, testify. We prepare you for both.
Will I talk to my attorney, or just staff?
Both. Della handles day-to-day updates, and your attorney handles the decisions, the offers and anything you want to talk through.
